  2. The ticket is created in Jira as per your instructions. ForwardThis can set the issue type, priority, assignee and due date at the same time.

FAQs

How do I create a Jira ticket from an email?
Forward the email to your ForwardThis address with some simple instructions, like "raise this in the WEB project as a high priority bug for Dan". ForwardThis creates the ticket and replies with a link. The first time, you will need a free ForwardThis account with Jira connected - it takes about 30 seconds.
Can it set the priority, assignee and issue type?
Yes. Your instructions can set the issue type, priority, assignee and due date when the ticket is created. Anything you leave out uses the project's defaults.
Doesn't Jira have its own email address for creating tickets?
It does. Jira can create issues from email sent to a project's own inbound address, and it works well. The difference is that ForwardThis is one address for every project, and your instructions choose the project, issue type, priority and assignee, where Jira's inbound mail lands in one preconfigured project.
Which project does the ticket go into?
Whichever your instructions name. Say 'raise this in WEB' and it lands in the WEB project; with only one project, ForwardThis uses it without asking.
Can it attach the email's files to the ticket?
Yes. ForwardThis can upload the email's attachments onto the ticket, and the confirmation lists what was attached.
Does it work with Outlook and other email apps?
Yes. ForwardThis works with any email provider: Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail and everything else. If it can forward an email, it works.
What happens to my email afterwards?
It gets deleted. ForwardThis holds your email briefly in case you press undo, then removes it completely. Nothing is stored long term.

Forward an email. Sh*t gets done.
