ForwardThis

An ops assistant for your inbox

ForwardThis for accountants & bookkeepers

Accountants run on email. Receipts, supplier bills, engagement letters, deadlines, client queries: they all land in your inbox, and they all need actioning. ForwardThis actions them for you. Forward the email, add some simple instructions, and it does the work in the apps you already use.

The emails accountants deal with every day

ForwardThis takes on the repetitive tasks you would normally delegate, or switch between apps to deal with yourself. Each one of these can be actioned from a single forwarded email.

  • A client's receipt

Log this as an expense for £24.90 under Subsistence, dated 3 September.

The expense is shown to you first, then recorded with the receipt attached once you say yes.

  • A supplier's bill

Put this in Xero as a draft bill, due on the 30th.

The bill sits in Xero as a draft with the PDF attached, ready for your approval run.

  • An engagement letter to send

Send our Engagement Letter to Priya Nair, priya.nair@gmail.com, for signature.

ForwardThis shows you the send first, and the letter goes out for signature once you say yes.

  • Year end records from a client

Save the attachments under Clients/Larch & Sons/2026 Year End.

Every file is saved to the client's folder, and the confirmation lists each one with its link.

  • An HMRC deadline

Put the corporation tax deadline in my calendar for 1 December, with a reminder a week before.

The deadline goes in your calendar with the thread attached, so the context is one click away.

  • A new client enquiry

Add this to the CRM as a lead, and set a task to send our fees letter.

The enquiry is logged as a contact in your CRM, with the follow-up already on your list.

  • A client query that needs doing, not filing

Add this as a task on the Hartwell payroll job, due Thursday.

The task is created on the right job once you approve it, so the query stops living in your inbox.

  • A 'how are the books looking?' from a client

Look up Hartwell & Co in Dext and send me their health score and debtor days.

The answer comes back in the reply: the health score, the VAT scheme and the debtor days, read straight from the account.

  • A mileage claim

Add my September mileage to the sheet, one row per trip.

Each trip becomes its own row in the sheet, dated and ready for the year end.

How it works

  1. Forward an email

Forward any email, along with a quick note. Save the attachment. Add this to my calendar. Create a task. Update a record. Send a message on Slack. One email can ask for several things at once.

  2. ForwardThis does the work

It reads your email, then connects to your existing apps & tools to carry out the job. No workflows to build. No copying and pasting between tabs.

  3. Done.

ForwardThis replies when it’s done. With a short summary - and an undo button if something doesn’t look right.

Try it with a real email.

FAQs

How do accountants use ForwardThis?
By forwarding the emails that carry work in them. A client's receipt becomes a recorded expense. A supplier's bill sits in Xero as a draft. An engagement letter goes out for signature. A query becomes a task on the right job. Each one can be actioned from a single forwarded email.
Does it work with the tools a practice already uses?
Yes. It works with Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent, Dext, Karbon, Senta, Google Drive, Docusign and 145+ other apps. Each app takes one click to connect, and once connected it stays connected.
Does it work with our practice management software?
Yes. ForwardThis works with Karbon and Senta today, and more apps are added every month. A forwarded client query can become a task on the right job, and a new prospect can go straight onto the client list.
Can my team use it too?
We're working hard on getting our team plan ready to launch. If you'd like to use ForwardThis for your team, please email us for more information.
What happens to emails with client financial information in them?
Your email is processed securely and used only to carry out your instructions. ForwardThis keeps it just long enough for you to press undo, then deletes it completely. Nothing is stored long term.
Can it set up folders in Google Drive for a new client?
Yes. If you mention a Google Drive folder that does not exist, ForwardThis creates it for you. "Save the attachments under Clients/Fenwick Bros/2027 Year End" works on day one of an engagement.
