An ops assistant for your inbox
ForwardThis for law firms
Law firms run on email. Client documents, engagement letters, court deadlines, new enquiries, attendance notes: they all land in your inbox, and they all need actioning. ForwardThis actions them for you. Forward the email, add some simple instructions, and it does the work in the apps you already use.

The emails law firms deal with every day
ForwardThis takes on the repetitive tasks you would normally delegate, or switch between apps to deal with yourself. Each one of these can be actioned from a single forwarded email.
Papers from a client
“Save the attachments under Matters/Harwood Estate/Probate.”
Every file is saved to the matter's folder, and the confirmation lists each one with its link.
An engagement letter to send
“Send our Engagement Letter to Anna Reeve, anna.reeve@gmail.com, for signature.”
ForwardThis shows you the send first, and the letter goes out for signature once you say yes.
A hearing date or filing deadline
“Put the hearing in my calendar for 5 November at 10am, with a reminder the day before.”
The hearing goes in your calendar with the thread attached to the invite.
A new client enquiry
“Add this to the CRM as a new enquiry, and set a task to call back today.”
The enquiry is logged as a contact in your CRM, with the call already on your list.
An attendance note to write up
“Turn this into a doc titled Attendance note - Harwood, 12 September.”
The email becomes a doc with that title, and the reply carries a link to it.
A letter from the other side
“Add a note to the Harwood matter, and set a task to reply by Thursday.”
The note and the task land on the right matter, so the file tells the whole story.
Time to record
“Add my time on the Reeve conveyance to the Hours sheet.”
Each entry becomes its own row in the sheet, dated and ready for billing.
News for the team
“Post in #matters that the Ferndale purchase has completed.”
The message is shown to you first, then posted to the channel once you approve it.
A signed contract
“File this under Matters/Reeve Conveyance/Contract.”
The contract is filed in the matter's folder, alongside the rest of the file.

FAQs
- How do law firms use ForwardThis?
- By forwarding the emails that carry work in them. A client's papers get filed by matter. A client care letter goes out for signature. A hearing goes in the calendar with a reminder. A letter from the other side becomes a note and a task on the matter. Each one can be actioned from a single forwarded email.
- Does it work with the tools a law firm already uses?
- Yes. It works with Clio, Docusign, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Calendar, Google Sheets, HubSpot, Slack and 145+ other apps. Each app takes one click to connect, and once connected it stays connected.
- Does it work with LEAP, Actionstep or Proclaim?
- Not yet. ForwardThis cannot update those platforms today, and new apps are added every month. It already works with Clio for notes, tasks and calendar dates on a matter, and it covers the rest of a firm's day: filing, signatures, deadlines and the CRM.
- Can my team use it too?
- We're working hard on getting our team plan ready to launch. If you'd like to use ForwardThis for your team, please email us for more information.
- What happens to confidential client emails?
- Your email is processed securely and used only to carry out your instructions. ForwardThis keeps it just long enough for you to press undo, then deletes it completely. Nothing is stored long term.
- Can it set up folders in Google Drive for a new matter?
- Yes. If you mention a Google Drive folder that does not exist, ForwardThis creates it for you. "File this under Matters/Novak Purchase/Contract" works from the day the file is opened.
