- Is ForwardThis a Missive alternative?
- No. Missive is a shared inbox and ForwardThis has no inbox, no assignees and no threads, so nothing here replaces a team mailbox. It is an alternative for what a conversation creates once it has been answered: the issue raised, the row logged, the document filed, the task set in a system nobody in the thread wants to open.
- Can both be used together?
- Yes, and the split is natural. Missive holds the conversation and the team around it. When a conversation leaves work behind, forward that message on with your instructions and ForwardThis does that part outside the mailbox. Forwarding is the whole integration, so there is nothing to wire up between them.
- Does ForwardThis work for a whole team?
- Not yet, and it is better to say so plainly. An account today is one person: one forwarding address, one allowance, nobody to invite. A team plan is coming, but you cannot buy one today. Missive is built the opposite way round, priced per seat with tiers that set how many people a workspace can hold.
- How does the pricing compare?
- Missive charges per seat and the tier sets the ceiling: Starter is $14 a user a month billed yearly for up to five users, Productive is $24 for up to fifty and adds integrations and rules, Business is $36 for unlimited, all after a 30 day trial with the Productive features. ForwardThis charges per action for the account rather than per person: 10 actions a month free with every feature, then $15 a month for 100. One forwarded email is one action, however many things it asks for.
- Missive has AI and MCP. What is different here?
- It overlaps honestly. Missive can run AI rules, draft replies and reach tools like Stripe, Notion and Linear over MCP, so it is not confined to the mailbox either. The difference is who is in charge. In ForwardThis the instruction always comes from you, on one email. Nothing in the forwarded message can change what gets done or where; it can only supply details. Anything that sends words to another person is shown to you first, and you can undo it for 24 hours.
- Does ForwardThis see the whole shared inbox?
- No. It holds no connection to any mailbox, shared or personal. The only message it sees is the one someone forwards to it, and the email content is deleted once the action completes. A shared inbox stays exactly as private as it was.
