Set a task to call
Due Mon 7 Sep
You receive a confirmation email once complete, with an undo button that works for 24 hours.
Setup in 30 seconds.
How it works
Forward the email to your ForwardThis address with some simple instructions, like "log this on the Fairfield lead and set a task to call Monday".
The email lands as a note on the lead, which in Close is where everything lives: contacts, notes, tasks and opportunities all sit on the lead, so the whole story stays in one place. ForwardThis finds the lead by company name or by the sender's email address, and sets the follow-up task in the same forward.
You receive a confirmation email containing what was logged and where, plus an undo button if something doesn't look right.

FAQs
- How do I log an email in Close?
- Forward the email to your ForwardThis address with some simple instructions, like "log this on the Fairfield lead". ForwardThis adds it as a note on the lead and replies to confirm. The first time, you will need a free ForwardThis account with Close connected - it takes about 30 seconds.
- Which lead does the note land on?
- Everything in Close hangs off the lead, so that is where the note goes. Your instructions can point at the company by name, or ForwardThis matches the sender's email address to the right lead on its own. More than one match comes back as a question, never a guess.
- Can it log a call I have just finished?
- Yes. Ask for the write-up to go on as a call and it is logged as one, which keeps phone conversations separate from plain notes on the lead's timeline. It can log the email as an email activity too, which records the message without sending anything to anybody.
- Can it move an opportunity along or update the lead?
- Yes. In the same forward, ForwardThis can add an opportunity with an amount, move one to another status, mark it won, or change the lead's own status - so "mark Fairfield as Qualified" works exactly as written, using the statuses your team has set up.
- What if the company has no lead yet?
- Ask ForwardThis to add the person and Close gets a new lead created around them, with the contact inside it. If the company's lead already exists, the contact joins it instead - nothing is duplicated.
- Can it send emails or run sequences from Close?
- No. ForwardThis records what already happened - notes, calls, emails that were sent - and never sends email, starts a sequence or places a call from your CRM. Anything that would reach your customers stays in your hands.
- What happens to my email afterwards?
- It gets deleted. ForwardThis holds your email briefly in case you press undo, then removes it completely. Nothing is stored long term.
