- How do I log an email in HubSpot?

ForwardThis logs it on the contact's timeline and replies to confirm with a link. The first time, you will need a free ForwardThis account with HubSpot connected - it takes about 30 seconds.
- Where does the logged email end up?
- On the contact's timeline, where a note, a call or a logged email normally sits. Say which kind you want in your instructions: a note is the default, and logging an email that already happened sends nothing to anybody.
- How does it find the right contact?
- By email address. The forwarded sender's address usually identifies the contact on its own, or you can name someone else in your instructions. An address that is already in HubSpot is all it needs.
- What if it logs the email on the wrong contact?
- The confirmation email includes an undo that works for 24 hours, which removes the note. You can also just reply and say where it should have gone.
- How is this different from HubSpot's own logging address?
- HubSpot gives you a forwarding address that logs a copy of the email onto the contact's timeline, and it is useful and free. If a raw copy is all you need, use it. ForwardThis logs the email the way you say, as a note, a call or a meeting, and can create the deal or the follow-up task in the same forward.
- Does it work with Outlook and other email apps?
