You receive a confirmation email once complete, with an undo button that works for 24 hours.
Setup in 30 seconds.
How it works
Forward the email to your ForwardThis address with some simple instructions, like "draft this up as a post titled Spring opening hours".
The email becomes a draft post as per your instructions. ForwardThis can set the title, and it never publishes: putting the post live is a separate step that always waits for your approval.
You receive a confirmation email containing a link to the draft, plus an undo button if something doesn't look right.

FAQs
- How do I post to WordPress by email?
- Forward the email to your ForwardThis address with some simple instructions, like "draft this up as a post titled Spring opening hours". ForwardThis writes the draft and replies with a link to it. The first time, you will need a free ForwardThis account with WordPress.com connected - it takes about 30 seconds.
- Will it publish without me?
- No. Every post arrives as a draft. Publishing is a separate instruction, and ForwardThis checks with you and names the site before anything goes live.
- Can it edit or publish a post later?
- Yes. Name the post and ForwardThis can change the title or content, or publish it once you approve. Undo puts the previous version back, and it refuses if the post has been edited again since.
- How is this different from WordPress's own Post by Email?
- Post by Email turns everything sent to a secret address into a post on one fixed site, and depending on the setting it publishes straight away. ForwardThis reads your instructions instead: you choose the title, the post stays a draft until you approve, and the reply links to it.
- Does it work with self-hosted WordPress?
- No. ForwardThis connects to sites on WordPress.com. Self-hosted WordPress uses a different API, so it needs its own connection, which is not available yet.
- Does it work with Outlook and other email apps?
- Yes. ForwardThis works with any email provider: Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail and everything else. If it can forward an email, it works.
- What happens to my email afterwards?
- It gets deleted. ForwardThis holds your email briefly in case you press undo, then removes it completely. Nothing is stored long term.
