An ops assistant for your inbox
ForwardThis for freelancers
Freelancers run on email. Briefs, contracts, enquiries, feedback, invoices: they all land in your inbox, and they all need actioning. ForwardThis actions them for you. Forward the email, add some simple instructions, and it does the work in the apps you already use.

The emails freelancers deal with every day
ForwardThis takes on the repetitive tasks you would normally delegate, or switch between apps to deal with yourself. Each one of these can be actioned from a single forwarded email.
A client brief
“File this under Clients/Bryn/Briefs and add a task to read it before Friday's call.”
The brief is filed in the client's folder, and the read-through is on your list before the call.
A signed contract
“File this under Clients/Stanhope/Contracts.”
The contract is filed in the client's folder, so it is there the day you need to check a clause.
A new enquiry
“Add them to the CRM as a lead with a note on the budget, and set a task to reply on Thursday.”
The enquiry is a contact in your CRM with the follow-up on your list, so it cannot slip.
A supplier invoice
“Put this in Xero as a bill, due on the 20th.”
The bill is drafted in Xero with the PDF attached, ready to approve when you do the books.
Feedback on a round of work
“Add the feedback to my project notes, one point per bullet.”
Every point lands in your project notes, so the next draft answers all of it.
A scope change
“Add a row to my Scope changes sheet with the date and what was asked for.”
The request is on the record with a date, which is the difference between scope creep and a paid change.
A meeting request
“Put this in my calendar for Monday at 2pm, with a reminder an hour before.”
The call goes in your calendar, and the thread is attached to the invite.
Work worth billing for
“Log an hour against the Foxglove project for this email round.”
The time entry is recorded against the project, so the invoice at month end is complete.
A receipt for a business purchase
“Add this to my Expenses sheet with the amount and the date.”
A row lands on the sheet, and the receipt stops living in your inbox.

FAQs
- How do freelancers use ForwardThis?
- By forwarding the emails that carry work in them. A brief is filed and becomes a task. A signed contract goes into the client's folder. A supplier invoice lands in Xero as a draft bill. A new enquiry goes into the CRM with a follow-up task. Each one can be actioned from a single forwarded email.
- Does it work with the tools a freelancer already uses?
- Yes. It works with Xero, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Notion, Todoist, HubSpot, Harvest, Toggl Track, Calendly and 145+ other apps. Each app takes one click to connect, and once connected it stays connected.
- Does it track my time?
- No. ForwardThis does not run a timer and does not track anything automatically. It can log a time entry you describe, like two hours against a named project in Harvest or Toggl Track, but only when a forwarded email asks for it.
- Can it set up folders in Google Drive for a new client?
- Yes. If you mention a Google Drive folder that does not exist, ForwardThis creates it for you. "File this under Clients/Rowan/Briefs" works from the first email a new client sends.
- Can I use it with a team?
- We're working hard on getting our team plan ready to launch. If you'd like to use ForwardThis for your team, please email us for more information.
- What happens to emails with client work in them?
- Your email is processed securely and used only to carry out your instructions. ForwardThis keeps it just long enough for you to press undo, then deletes it completely. Nothing is stored long term.
