- How do I send an email to Height?
- Forward the email to your ForwardThis address with a line saying what to open and where, like "open a task in Engineering called Checkout 500 on Safari". The email becomes the task's description, and it replies to confirm with the T-number. The first time, you'll need a free account with Height connected, which takes about 30 seconds - that's the entire Height email integration.
- Which list does the task go in?
- The one you name in your line. A task in Height has to belong to a list, so if your instruction doesn't say, it asks rather than guessing. If your workspace only has one list, it uses that one without asking. It won't create a new list, because lists are the shape of your workspace and reorganising that isn't an email-sized decision. Ask which lists you have and it will tell you, with their keys.
- Can it mark a task done or move its status?
- Yes. Name the task by its title or its T-number and say where it should go. Height has no fixed set of statuses, so it matches against the labels your own workspace uses, and "mark it done" lands on whichever of your labels actually means finished. If it doesn't recognise the status you wrote, it comes back with the real list instead of picking one for you.
- What if it opens the wrong task?
- The confirmation email has an undo that works for 24 hours. It moves the task to Height's own trash rather than destroying it, so it's still there in Height if you decide you wanted it after all. An edit puts the previous name, description or status back, and refuses if somebody has changed the task since.
- Can it comment on a task, and can that be undone?
- It can comment, on a task found by title or T-number. That one cannot be undone, because Height has no way to remove a comment once it's posted, so you'll never be shown an undo button for it that wouldn't work. Everything else it does in Height reverses cleanly.
