Get started

Setup in 30 seconds.

How it works

  1. Connect Asana

Create a free account and connect Asana. It takes about 30 seconds, and you only do it once.

  2. Forward an email

Forward any email to your ForwardThis address along with your instructions. One email can ask for several things at once.

  3. Done.

ForwardThis replies when it's done, with a short summary and links to what it made - and an undo button if something doesn't look right.

Just forward it

Fwd: Brand guidelines feedback

Add this to the Quay Studios project for Marcus, due Friday, and attach the guidelines.

---------- Forwarded message ----------

Thanks for the draft. Two things before sign-off: the secondary palette is too close to a competitor's, and we need a mono version of the logo. Both by Friday?

Why you need ForwardThis

Email is messy, every message asking for something different. It means constantly leaving your inbox and juggling tabs. ForwardThis skips all of that: forward an email along with some simple instructions, and it’s handled. Compatible with every email provider, and it works across the apps you’re already using.

Questions

How do I send an email to Asana?
Forward the email to your ForwardThis address with a line saying where the task belongs, like "add this to the Quay Studios project". ForwardThis creates the task, puts the email in the description, and replies to confirm with a link. The first time, you'll need a free account with Asana connected, which takes about 30 seconds - that's the entire Asana email integration.
Can I choose which project and section the task goes in?
Yes. Name the project, and a section of it if you want one, and the task lands there. Name nothing and it goes to My Tasks. You can also make it a subtask of a task you already have by naming the parent.
Can it assign the task and set a due date?
Yes. Name the person and the day in the same line - "for Marcus, due Friday" - and both are set when the task is created. It can also fill in that project's own custom fields, like Priority, using the names you already use in Asana.
Can it add tags to the task?
Yes, as long as the tag already exists in your Asana workspace. ForwardThis won't invent new tags from an email, so if you ask for one that isn't there, it tells you rather than quietly creating it.
How is this different from Asana's own email address?
Asana gives you an address that turns a message into a task in My Tasks, with the subject as the title, and that's it. If you sort them later anyway, that's enough. When you want to forward email to Asana and have it land in the right project, assigned, dated, with the attachment on it, and create work in your other apps too, that's this.

Forward an email. Sh*t gets done.
