How do I save an email to SharePoint?

Which site and library does the file go to?

Whichever your instructions ask for, on any site and any library the account can reach. Mention neither and the file goes to your main site's Documents library. Folders in the path that do not exist yet are created on the way, and the confirmation shows the full path it used.

What if a file with the same name is already in the folder?

Nothing is overwritten. SharePoint gives the incoming file a fresh name, and the confirmation shows the name it ended up with, so a revised drawing never quietly replaces the one the site team has been working from.

How do I save email attachments to SharePoint when there are several?

Ask for all of them and every attachment is filed in the same folder, or name just the ones you want. If your instructions do not settle it, ForwardThis replies asking which before it saves anything, and the confirmation lists each file with its link.

Can it save the email itself, not just the attachment?

No. A document library holds files, so an email with nothing attached has nothing to file. When it is the message that matters rather than a file, ask for the details to go on a SharePoint list instead, where they become an item you can see alongside the rest of the team's.

Can it tidy files that are already in the library?

Yes. It can move a file to another folder, rename it, copy it (including into another library on the same site), share it with a named colleague, and tell you who currently has access. Moving between two libraries is the one thing SharePoint itself will not do, so a move goes to a folder and a copy is what crosses libraries. Deleting sends the file to the site's recycle bin, where a person can restore it by hand, and that one step has no undo button, because SharePoint offers no way to take a file back out of the bin for you.

Power Automate already does this. Why forward an email?

If the same supplier sends the same kind of file to the same folder every week, a flow handles it and nobody has to forward anything. That is the better tool for a fixed rule. What happens to my email afterwards?
