- How do I save an email to SharePoint?
- Forward the email to your ForwardThis address with a line saying where it belongs, like "save the attachment under Projects/Ellis Road". ForwardThis files it in that document library, creating the folder if it's new, and replies to confirm with a link. The first time, you'll need a free account with SharePoint connected, which takes about 30 seconds - that's the entire SharePoint email integration.
- Can I forward an email straight to a SharePoint document library?
- Yes. Forward it to your ForwardThis address and name the site and library - "put this in the Contracts library on the Finance site". If you don't name one, it uses your main site's Documents library. One address works for every site and library your SharePoint account can reach.
- Can it add an email to a SharePoint list?
- Yes. Say which list and what the item should say - "add this to the Site queries list" - and ForwardThis creates the item with your title, filling in any list columns you name. If a value doesn't match a column on that list, it tells you instead of quietly dropping it.
- Can it save email attachments to SharePoint and update a list from the same email?
- Yes, and that's the point: one forwarded email can carry both jobs. "Save the drawing under Ellis Road/RFIs and add it to the Site queries list" files the attachment and creates the list item together, then one reply confirms both.
