ForwardThis for tradespeople & contractors

Tradespeople run on email. Job requests, supplier invoices, quotes, delivery changes, certificates: they all land in your inbox, and they all need actioning. ForwardThis actions them for you. Forward the email, add some simple instructions, and it does the work in the apps you already use.

The emails tradespeople deal with every day

ForwardThis takes on the repetitive tasks you would normally delegate, or switch between apps to deal with yourself. Each one of these can be actioned from a single forwarded email.

  • A new job enquiry

Put a site visit in my calendar for Thursday at 5pm.

The visit goes in your calendar with the enquiry attached, so the details are on your phone when you arrive.

  • A delivery time change

Text Stefan on +44 7700 900233: the plasterboard now arrives Friday at 8am.

You approve the exact words first, and the text is sent from your own number.

  • A supplier invoice

Put this in Xero as a bill, due on the 14th.

The bill waits in Xero as a draft, with the PDF attached.

  • A quote from a subcontractor

    File this under Jobs/Hollow Lane/Quotes.

The quote is filed in the job's folder, and the confirmation gives you the link.

  • A repair request from a letting agent

Create a job for the property with the details from this email.

The job is created with the address and the fault, ready to schedule.

  • A test certificate

    File this under Certificates/2026.

The certificate lands in the right folder, filed under the year.

  • A fuel or materials receipt

Put this in QuickBooks as a materials receipt for the Hollow Lane job.

The receipt is logged in QuickBooks with the PDF attached, ready for your bookkeeper.

  • Your own mileage note

Add these trips to the Mileage sheet, one row each.

Each trip becomes a row on the sheet, so the log is done before you are out of the van.

  2. ForwardThis does the work

FAQs

How do tradespeople use ForwardThis?
By forwarding the emails that carry work in them. A job enquiry becomes a site visit in the calendar. A supplier invoice lands in Xero. A quote gets filed in the job's folder. A delivery change becomes a text to the site, sent once you have approved the words. Each one can be actioned from a single forwarded email.
Does it work with the tools a tradesperson already uses?
Yes. It works with ServiceM8, Xero, QuickBooks, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Google Sheets, Twilio and 145+ other apps. Each app takes one click to connect, and once connected it stays connected.
What can it do in ServiceM8?
It can create a job from a forwarded email, with the address and the details filled in from what the email says. Scheduling, quoting and invoicing stay in ServiceM8, where they already work. Around it, ForwardThis covers the calendar, files, bookkeeping and texts.
Will a text to the site ever send without me seeing it?
No. Every text is shown to you for a quick OK before it is sent, because a text cannot be unsent.
Can my team use it too?
We're working hard on getting our team plan ready to launch. If you'd like to use ForwardThis for your team, please email us for more information.
What happens to customer-sensitive emails?
Your email is processed securely and used only to carry out your instructions. ForwardThis keeps it just long enough for you to press undo, then deletes it completely. Nothing is stored long term.
