Questions

How do I send an email to Crisp?
Forward the email to your ForwardThis address with a line saying what you want, like "reply to Harriet to say the replacement ships tomorrow". ForwardThis finds the conversation, shows you the exact words it's about to send, and sends them once you reply yes. The first time, you'll need a free account with Crisp connected, which takes about 30 seconds, and that's the entire Crisp email integration.
Can I reply to a Crisp chat from my email?
Yes. Name the visitor by their name or email address and say what to tell them. The message appears in the chat under your site's name, exactly as if you'd typed it in Crisp. The wording has to come from your own instruction, never from the forwarded message, so a customer email cannot put words in your mouth.
Can it leave an internal note instead of replying?
Yes. A private note goes on the conversation for your team and the visitor never sees it, which is the right place for the warehouse reference, the refund reason, or whatever the person handling it next needs to know. You can do both in one line: reply to the visitor and note the detail for the team.
What if it sends the wrong thing to a visitor?
It won't send without you. Chat replies are shown to you for a quick yes first, because a message the visitor has already read cannot be unsent, and the same is true of a note. Resolving or reopening a conversation is different: that can be reversed, and the confirmation email includes an undo that works for 24 hours, which checks nobody else has moved the conversation since.
How is this different from Crisp's own email channel or Zapier?
Crisp can already turn an email to your support address into a conversation, which is the right tool for your inbound support queue. Zapier suits the same event happening over and over. ForwardThis is for the internal email that arrives somewhere else entirely: the warehouse, the supplier, a colleague, with the answer a waiting visitor needs. You forward that message and it becomes the reply, the note and the resolve.
