- How do I send an email to Capsule?
- Forward the email to your ForwardThis address with some simple instructions, like "add the sender to Capsule and set a task to call them Friday". ForwardThis does the work in Capsule and replies to confirm. The first time, you'll need a free account with Capsule connected, which takes about 30 seconds.
- Can I forward an email to Capsule CRM to create a contact?
- Yes. Forward it and say "add the sender to Capsule". ForwardThis creates the person with their name, email address and job title where the email carries them, and links their organisation when it already exists in your account. Forward from the same person twice and it updates their record instead of creating a duplicate.
- Does this work from Gmail and Outlook?
- Yes. Whether you use Gmail, Outlook or anything else, all ForwardThis needs is a forwarded email. If your email app can forward, it works with Capsule, and there are no add-ins to install on either side.
- Can it create an opportunity in Capsule?
- Yes. Name the contact and ForwardThis creates the opportunity for them, at the milestone you name or your pipeline's first one. It can also move an existing opportunity, and because Capsule treats Won and Lost as milestones, "move it to Won" works. For a value, say the currency too, like 4000 GBP, so nothing is guessed.
- How is this different from Capsule's own Mail Drop Box?
- Capsule's drop box stores a copy of the email against the matching contact, and if filing correspondence is all you need, it's the better choice. ForwardThis does the work the email asks for: it can add or update the contact, log the note, set the task, create or move the opportunity, and change tags. It can also carry the same email into your other apps in the same forward.
- What if it gets something wrong?
- The confirmation email includes an undo that works for 24 hours. Undo puts things back exactly as they were, and it is careful about it: if someone on your team has edited the same record since, ForwardThis leaves the newer version alone and tells you so.
