Why you need ForwardThis
Email is messy, every message asking for something different. It means constantly leaving your inbox and juggling tabs. ForwardThis skips all of that: forward an email along with some simple instructions, and it’s handled. Compatible with every email provider, and it works across the apps you’re already using.
Questions
- How do I send an email to Copper?
- Forward the email to your ForwardThis address with a line saying what you want in the CRM, like "add Duncan to Copper and open an opportunity for £18,000 in New Business". ForwardThis creates the records, puts the email in as the note, and replies to confirm with links. The first time, you'll need a free account with Copper connected, which takes about 30 seconds - that's the entire Copper email integration.
- Will it create a duplicate if the person is already in Copper?
- No. Email addresses are unique in Copper, so if the sender is already on file, their record is updated rather than a second one created. Companies work the same way: a company whose web domain already exists is updated, because Copper refuses the duplicate outright.
- Can it delete a record in Copper?
- No, and it will not. Deleting in Copper is permanent, there is no bin to fish it back out of, and a record you recreate gets a new id that breaks everything pointing at the old one. So ForwardThis has no delete for Copper at all. The only thing it ever removes is something it created itself, when you press undo within 24 hours.
- Can it convert a lead into a deal?
- Yes, into a person, a company and an opportunity in the pipeline you name. This is the one action here with no way back: Copper removes the lead as part of the conversion and cannot put it back. So ForwardThis shows you everything that will be created and waits for your OK, rather than offering an undo it could not honour.
- What if it puts the wrong value on an opportunity?
- Undo works for 24 hours and restores the exact values that were there before. If a colleague has edited the same fields since, it stops and tells you instead of overwriting their work. You can also just reply and say what the right value or stage was.
