- How do I send an email to Figma?
- Forward the email to your ForwardThis address, paste the link to the Figma file, and say what you want, like "put this on the homepage file as a comment". ForwardThis posts the comment on that file and replies with a link straight to it. The first time, you'll need a free account with Figma connected, which takes about 30 seconds - that's the whole Figma email integration.
- Do I have to include the link to the file?
- Yes, and this is a real limit rather than a preference. Figma offers no way to search your account for a file by name, so the link, or the file key from it, has to be in your instruction. Paste it and everything else works; leave it out and it will ask you for it rather than guessing at the wrong design.
- Can it change a design?
- No. It reads a file's details, reads its comments, and leaves comments. Editing design content isn't something Figma opens up, and it isn't a job that belongs to an inbox anyway.
- Whose name does the comment appear under?
- Yours. It posts through the Figma account you connected, so the comment shows your name and photo like any other, and replies come back to you in Figma as normal.
- Can it tell me what people have said on a file?
- Yes. Ask for the comments on a file and you get the thread back in a reply, newest first, with who wrote each one and when. Handy when someone emails asking whether their feedback ever got picked up.
