Keap
Keap email integration
Keap gets the contact, the note, the task or the opportunity out of an email you forward to ForwardThis. A tag can start an automation in Keap, so a name matching no existing tag is refused rather than created, and nobody is opted into marketing.
Setup in 30 seconds.

Why you need ForwardThis
Email is messy, every message asking for something different. It means constantly leaving your inbox and juggling tabs. ForwardThis skips all of that: forward an email along with some simple instructions, and it’s handled. Compatible with every email provider, and it works across the apps you’re already using.
Questions
- How do I send an email to Keap?
- In Keap the email becomes a contact, a note, a task or an opportunity, a new contact is never opted into marketing, and applying a tag is shown to you first, because a Keap tag can start an automation to that person. Forward the email to your ForwardThis address with your instructions, like "add this person to Keap and set a task to call them Friday". ForwardThis adds the record and replies to confirm; someone already in Keap is updated rather than duplicated. The first time, you'll need a free account with Keap connected, which takes about 30 seconds, and that's the entire Keap email integration.
- Can I add a contact to Keap by forwarding an email?
- Yes. Forward the email and ask for the contact to be added. If that person is already in Keap, their existing record is updated instead of duplicated. New contacts are never opted into marketing - that decision stays with you, inside Keap.
- Can ForwardThis apply Keap tags?
- Yes, from the tags that already exist in your account. In Keap a tag can start an automation, like an email sequence to that contact, so ForwardThis checks with you before applying one and never invents a new tag on its own.
- Can it create opportunities in Keap?
- Yes. Name the contact and the pipeline stage, and it creates the opportunity with the close date and value if you give them. Keap has no way to delete an opportunity once it exists, and that is why ForwardThis checks with you before creating one.
- How is this different from Keap's Gmail and Outlook sync?
- Keap's email sync copies your conversations onto the contact's record so you can read them later. ForwardThis does the work the email is asking for: it adds the contact, writes the note, sets the task or starts the opportunity. The two work fine side by side.
- Will ForwardThis send marketing emails through Keap?
- No. It never sends a broadcast, never enrols anyone in a campaign, and never marks a contact as marketable. It looks after the records instead: contacts, notes, tasks, tags and opportunities. Keap's own email automation stays entirely under your control.
