How it works

  1. Connect Tally

Create a free account and connect Tally. It takes about 30 seconds, and you only do it once.

  2. Forward an email

Forward any email to your ForwardThis address along with your instructions. One email can ask for several things at once.

  3. Done.

ForwardThis replies with the answer in your inbox, pulled straight from Tally. Nothing there gets edited.

Why you need ForwardThis

ForwardThis skips all of that: forward an email along with some simple instructions, and it’s handled. Compatible with every email provider, and it works across the apps you’re already using.

Questions

How do I send an email to Tally?
Forward the email to your ForwardThis address with a line saying what you want from Tally, like "send me the recent submissions to the Open Day Sign-up form". It finds the form by its title and replies with the answers as question and answer pairs, with the date each one came in. It reads Tally rather than writing to it. The first time, you'll need a free account with Tally connected, which takes about 30 seconds - that's the entire Tally email integration.
Can it create or edit a Tally form?
No. A Tally form is its blocks: the titles, the inputs, the conditional logic, the payment fields. A line written in an email cannot describe that safely, and getting it wrong means a live form on the internet asking people the wrong questions. So the building side is left out entirely.
Can it delete a submission or a form?
No, deliberately. A submission is somebody's own words inside the only record you have of what they said, and there is nothing to restore it from once it's gone. Deleting a form takes it off the internet while people are still filling it in. Neither belongs behind an emailed instruction, so neither is offered.
How is this different from Tally's own email notifications, or Zapier?
Tally can email you every submission as it arrives, which is the better choice if you want them all, in real time. Zapier can send them somewhere else, but you build the rule first and it runs from then on. This is for asking afterwards, when a thread lands in your inbox and the answer is sitting in a form you'd otherwise have to open and scroll.

Forward an email. Sh*t gets done.
