Why you need ForwardThis
Email is messy, every message asking for something different. It means constantly leaving your inbox and juggling tabs. ForwardThis skips all of that: forward an email along with some simple instructions, and it’s handled. Compatible with every email provider, and it works across the apps you’re already using.
Questions
- How do I send an email to Typeform?
- Forward the email to your ForwardThis address with a line saying what you want from Typeform, like "send me the latest responses to the Autumn Workshop Feedback form". ForwardThis looks it up and replies with the answers. It reads Typeform rather than writing to it: it can list your forms and read a form's responses, and it changes nothing. The first time, you'll need a free account with Typeform connected, which takes about 30 seconds - that's the entire Typeform email integration.
- How do I get a form's responses by email?
- Name the form by its title and ask. The answers come back as question and answer pairs with the date each one was submitted, so you read them without opening Typeform. If more than one of your forms matches the title you wrote, it asks which one you meant rather than picking for you.
- Can ForwardThis create or edit a Typeform?
- No, on purpose. Creating or changing a form in Typeform means handing over the whole form definition, question by question, and that isn't something a line in an email can describe safely. So the writing side is left out entirely, and ForwardThis stays on the two questions people actually forward: which forms do we have, and what did people answer.
- How is this different from Typeform's own notifications or Zapier?
- Typeform can email you every response as it arrives, which is the better choice if you want them all, in real time, as they come. Zapier can send them somewhere else, but you build the rule first and it runs from then on. ForwardThis is for asking afterwards, when someone forwards you a thread and the answer is sitting in a form you'd otherwise have to go and open.
