Questions
- How do I send an email to Jotform?
- Forward the email to your ForwardThis address with a line saying what you want from Jotform, like "send me the recent responses to the Quote Request form". It finds the form by title and replies with the answers. It reads Jotform rather than writing to it: it can list your forms with their status, response count and link, and read a form's latest responses. The first time, you'll need a free account with Jotform connected, which takes about 30 seconds - that's the entire Jotform email integration.
- How do I get Jotform responses by email?
- Name the form by its title and ask for its responses. Each one comes back as the questions and what the person actually wrote, in the same wording Jotform shows in the submission, so you can read and act on them without opening the account.
- Can ForwardThis create or edit a Jotform form?
- No, on purpose. Building a form in Jotform is a visual job, and the way to do it through the interface is to hand over raw property maps question by question. Doing that from a line in an email would be guesswork against a form that is live and collecting real responses, so the writing side is left out entirely.
- Can it read responses from more than one form?
- Yes. Name each form and you get each one's responses back in the same reply. If you cannot remember the exact title, ask which forms you have and the list comes back with how many responses each has had.
- How is this different from Jotform's own notifications or Zapier?
- Jotform can email you every submission the moment it arrives, which is the better choice if you want them all in real time. Zapier suits sending each one somewhere else, once you have built the rule. ForwardThis is for asking afterwards, when a thread lands in your inbox and the answer is sitting in a form you would otherwise have to go and open.
