Fwd: Site survey needs re-booking

Add a to-do on the Millgate Refit project for Owen, due 4 September, and save the survey to the project's files.

---------- Forwarded message ----------

The surveyor couldn't get access to the rear yard on Tuesday, so the north elevation is missing. We'll need a second visit before the drawings can go out.

Why you need ForwardThis

Email is messy, every message asking for something different. It means constantly leaving your inbox and juggling tabs. ForwardThis skips all of that: forward an email along with some simple instructions, and it’s handled. Compatible with every email provider, and it works across the apps you’re already using.

Questions

How do I send an email to Basecamp?
Forward the email to your ForwardThis address with a line saying which project it belongs in and what should happen, like "add a to-do on the Millgate Refit project for Owen, due 4 September". ForwardThis creates it, puts the email in the notes, and replies to confirm with a link. The first time, you'll need a free account with Basecamp connected, which takes about 30 seconds - that's the entire Basecamp email integration.
Can I choose which project and to-do list it lands in?
Yes. Name the project, and the to-do list inside it if you want a particular one, and that's where it goes. Name only the project and it goes on the first list. You can assign it to people by name in the same line, and set a due date. It can make a new to-do list, or a whole new project, if the one you named isn't there yet.
Can it post to the message board or a Campfire?
Yes. Say "post this on the message board" with a subject and it goes up as a post, or name the Campfire and it drops a line in the chat instead. Because everyone on the project sees either one, ForwardThis shows you what it's about to post for a quick OK first. Everything else, like a to-do or a document, it just does and tells you.
What if it lands in the wrong project?
Undo works for 24 hours. Everything in Basecamp, a to-do, a comment, a document, a message, goes to the same trash you'd use yourself, so nothing vanishes and you can pull it back from Basecamp too. That's also why even a message-board post can be undone here, once you've said yes to it.
How is this different from Basecamp's own email-in address?
Basecamp gives each message board and to-do list its own email-in address, so you have to find the right one, and whatever you send becomes the post as it arrived. If you always send the same kind of thing to the same place, that works well. When you want one address for every project, and to say in the email whether this is a to-do for Owen due Friday or a document for the vault, that's this.
