Why you need ForwardThis
Email is messy, every message asking for something different. It means constantly leaving your inbox and juggling tabs. ForwardThis skips all of that: forward an email along with some simple instructions, and it’s handled. Compatible with every email provider, and it works across the apps you’re already using.
Questions
- How do I send an email to Wrike?
- Forward the email to your ForwardThis address with a line saying where the task belongs, like "add a task in the North Quay Fit-out folder for Hannah, due 8 September". ForwardThis creates the task, puts the email in the description, and replies to confirm with a link. The first time, you'll need a free account with Wrike connected, which takes about 30 seconds - that's the entire Wrike email integration.
- Can I choose which folder or project the task goes in?
- Yes. Name the folder or the project and the task lands there; name a task instead and it becomes a subtask of that one. You can assign it to someone by name, or to yourself by saying "me", set importance, and give it a due date. If the folder or project you named doesn't exist yet, it can create that too, inside a parent folder you name.
- Can it mark a task done when my account uses its own statuses?
- Yes. Plenty of Wrike accounts have custom workflows where done is called something else, like Approved or Delivered. ForwardThis reads the statuses on that task's own workflow and moves it to the right one, rather than assuming the standard Wrike names and getting it wrong on your account.
- What if it puts a task in the wrong folder?
- Undo works for 24 hours, and a task or folder it removes goes to Wrike's recycle bin, so you can pull it back from Wrike as well. There's one thing it can't take back: adding a follower to a task. Wrike has no way to remove one, so ForwardThis says so up front instead of offering an undo that wouldn't work.
- How is this different from Wrike's own email address for tasks?
- Wrike gives you an address that drops whatever you send into your own Inbox folder as a task, with the subject as the title, and you sort it into the right place afterwards. If that sorting is quick for you, it's enough. When you want the email to arrive already in the right folder, assigned, dated, with the attachment on it, and raising work in your other apps at the same time, that's this.
