- How do I send an email to Canny?
- Forward the customer's email to your ForwardThis address with a line saying where it belongs, like "file this on the Feature Requests board as me". ForwardThis writes the post from what the customer actually said, shows it to you first, and replies to confirm with a link. The first time, you'll need a free account with Canny connected, which takes about 30 seconds - that's the entire Canny email integration.
- Can I choose which board the request goes on?
- Yes. Name the board in your line and the post lands there; it can post to any board on the account you connected. You can also give it a title and a status, and tag it with tags the board already uses.
- Will my customers get an email when it posts or changes a status?
- No, never. Canny can email every voter on a post when its status moves or a comment appears, and ForwardThis always turns that off. Sending mail to a few hundred people is not something a forwarded email should be able to set off, and no approval could honestly tell you who would receive it.
- Can it vote on a request for a customer?
- No. A vote in Canny is cast as a named person, and ForwardThis will not speak for someone. It can file the request, comment on it, tag it and move its status, and it files posts under an address you name rather than one it picked out of the forwarded email.
- What if it files something on the wrong board?
- It shows you the post and the board before anything goes up, because a board is often public. If you approve it and change your mind, undo works for 24 hours and takes the post back down, as long as nobody has engaged with it in the meantime.
