- How do I send an email to ClickUp?
- Forward the email to your ForwardThis address with a line saying where the task belongs, like "add this to the Handovers list". ForwardThis creates the task, puts the email in the description, and replies to confirm with a link. The first time, you'll need a free account with ClickUp connected, which takes about 30 seconds - that's the entire ClickUp email integration.
- Can I choose which list the task goes in?
- Yes. Name the list in your instruction and the task goes there. If you only have one list, it goes there without asking, and if the name could match more than one, ForwardThis asks you which, using your real list names.
- Can it set a status, an assignee or a priority?
- Yes. Statuses come from that list's own set, so "move it to In Review" works if In Review is a status you actually use - it won't guess at one that isn't there. Assignees are named people on the task, and priority takes urgent, high, normal or low.
- Do email attachments come across to the task?
- Yes. Attachments are read straight from the forwarded email and added to the task, so there's nothing to download and re-upload.
- How is this different from ClickUp's own email-to-task feature?
- ClickUp can give a list its own email address, and anything sent there becomes a task in that one list. If everything goes to the same place, that's enough. This is ClickUp email automation without building anything first: one address for every list, the status, person and priority you named in the email, and the same email can create work in your other apps.
