Why you need ForwardThis

Email is messy, every message asking for something different. It means constantly leaving your inbox and juggling tabs. ForwardThis skips all of that: forward an email along with some simple instructions, and it’s handled. Compatible with every email provider, and it works across the apps you’re already using.

Questions

How do I send an email to Google Tasks?
Forward the email to your ForwardThis address with a line saying what needs doing, like "add a task to protect the deposit for 8 Marsh Road, due Friday". ForwardThis creates the task on the list you name, keeps the email's detail in the notes, and replies to confirm with a link. The first time, you'll need a free account with Google Tasks connected, which takes about 30 seconds - that's the entire Google Tasks email integration.
Can I choose which list the task goes on?
Yes. Name the list and the task lands there. Name nothing and it goes on your default list, the same as anything else you add in a hurry. If the list you name doesn't exist yet, ForwardThis can create it, and you can make the new task a subtask by naming the task it belongs under.
Can I set a due date?
Yes, and you can write it the way you'd say it: "Friday", "tomorrow", "the 15th". One thing worth knowing is that Google Tasks stores dates only, with no time of day, so "Friday at 3" is saved as Friday. That's Google Tasks, not ForwardThis, and it tells you rather than pretending the time went in.
Can it find or finish tasks I already have?
Yes. Ask what's still open and it searches every one of your lists, not just the default one, and replies by email. You can also have it tick a task off, rename it, re-date it, move it to another list, or add a note to it, all from the same forwarded email.
What if the task comes out wrong?
The confirmation email includes an undo that works for 24 hours, or you can just reply and say what to change. Google Tasks is only ever yours: nothing here posts to anyone, notifies anyone or shares a list, so a wrong task is a wrong task and nothing more.
