- How do I send an email to SignWell?
- Forward the email with the document attached to your ForwardThis address and say who needs to sign, like "send this to dana@brightco.uk (Dana Reyes) for signature". ForwardThis checks with you first, then sends the document out through your SignWell account and replies to confirm. The first time, you'll need a free account with SignWell connected, which takes about 30 seconds.
- Can I get an email attachment signed without opening SignWell?
- Yes. Forward the email, name the signer, and the attached file goes out for signature from your SignWell account. It works with PDFs, Word documents and most common file types, and SignWell adds a signature page at the end for each signer, so the document doesn't need fields placed on it first.
- Do I have to set anything up first?
- Connect SignWell once - it takes about 30 seconds - and you're done. There's nothing else to set up: each email you forward says what should happen to it.
- What if it sends something by mistake?
- It won't send without you. Every signature request is shown to you for a quick OK before it goes out, because once SignWell has emailed the signer there is no way to take that email back. Cancelling afterwards can stop the signing, but it can't unsend the request.
- Can I check what's happened, or send a reminder?
- Yes. SignWell emails you updates about each document - forward one of those emails back with "has she signed?" and ForwardThis replies with where things stand, or say "send them a reminder" and it nudges only the people who haven't signed yet. It checks with you before any reminder goes out, because a reminder is a real email too.
- Can ForwardThis use my SignWell templates?
- Usually the document you attach: forward the contract itself and it goes out for signature. Templates work too, but SignWell offers no way to look one up by name, so paste the template's link from SignWell and ForwardThis uses that.
- How is this different from sending it in SignWell?
- If you're already in SignWell with the document open, sending it there is quick and gives you full control over where each field sits on the page. ForwardThis is for when the document arrives in your inbox: instead of downloading the file, opening SignWell, uploading it again and typing out the recipient, you forward one email. And it can do the follow-up in your other apps too, like adding the task to chase the signature.
