How it works
Connect Dropbox
Create a free account and connect Dropbox. It takes about 30 seconds, and you only do it once.
Forward an email
Forward any email to your ForwardThis address along with your instructions. One email can ask for several things at once.
Done.
ForwardThis replies when it's done, with a short summary and links to what it made - and an undo button if something doesn't look right.
Just forward it

Why you need ForwardThis
Email is messy, every message asking for something different. It means constantly leaving your inbox and juggling tabs. ForwardThis skips all of that: forward an email along with some simple instructions, and it’s handled. Compatible with every email provider, and it works across the apps you’re already using.
Questions
- How do I save email attachments to Dropbox?
- Forward the email to your ForwardThis address with a line saying which folder they belong in, like "save these under Property/Leases/2026". ForwardThis reads the attachments straight out of the email, saves them to that folder, and replies to confirm with links. The first time, you'll need a free account with Dropbox connected, which takes about 30 seconds - that's the entire Dropbox email integration, and there are no rules to build first.
- Can I forward an email to Dropbox without downloading the files first?
- Yes, and that's the point of it. The files never touch your machine: you forward the email, ForwardThis takes the attachments from the message and puts them where your line says. So sending an email to Dropbox is one forward instead of a download, a browser tab and a drag.
- Can it save to a folder that doesn't exist yet?
- Yes. If your instruction names a folder that isn't there, ForwardThis creates it, saves the files inside, and says so in the confirmation. It can rename files as it saves them and move existing ones too, so "save this as Unit-4-lease-signed" works in the same line.
- Can it share the file with someone once it's saved?
- Yes, but it always checks with you first, because giving someone access is something you can't take back cleanly. You have to name the person yourself in your instruction: ForwardThis will never pick an address out of the forwarded email and share with whoever happens to be in the signature.
- What if it files something in the wrong folder?
- The confirmation email includes an undo that works for 24 hours, and it checks nobody else has touched the file before moving it back. Anything deleted from Dropbox stays restorable for 30 days, and you can ask ForwardThis to bring a deleted file back for you.
- How is this different from a rule in Zapier?
- If the same email arrives in the same shape every day, a Zapier rule will handle it and cost you less. ForwardThis is for the rest of your inbox, where every email is different: you write the destination in plain words on the email itself, so there's no rule to build and nothing to maintain when the next one doesn't match.
