- How do I send an email to Dext?
- Forward the email to your ForwardThis address with the question you want answered, like "which of our Dext clients need attention?". ForwardThis looks it up and the answer comes back as a reply, with nothing changed in Dext. The first time, you'll need a free account with Dext connected, which takes about 30 seconds.
- Can ForwardThis send receipts and invoices into Dext?
- No, and no other tool can either: Dext publishes no API for submitting documents. The way in is Dext's own, the extraction address that comes with your account, so you forward receipts to your @dext.cc address exactly as you do today. ForwardThis is for the other direction, asking Dext questions and getting answers back.
- What can it tell me about a client?
- The client list with each company's health score and alert level, one client's detail (health score, VAT scheme and period, debtor balance and average debtor days, how many bank feeds are still manual), and their bookkeeping activity: transaction volumes and turnover for the year, with monthly and quarterly averages and the change on last year.
- Does it change anything in Dext?
- No. This one only reads. It answers the question and replies, and there is nothing in Dext for it to edit, so there is nothing to undo. Forward the same email to it as often as you like.
