- How do I send an email to Monday.com?
- Forward the email to your ForwardThis address with a line saying where it belongs, like "add this to the Projects board". ForwardThis creates the item, fills in what it can see from the email, and replies to confirm with a link. The first time, you'll need a free account with Monday.com connected, which takes about 30 seconds - that's the entire Monday.com email integration.
- Can I forward an email straight onto a Monday.com board?
- Yes. Forward it to your ForwardThis address and name the board - "put this on Projects". If you only have one board it goes there without asking, and if the name could mean two boards it asks you which one. Attachments come along too, into the board's files column.
- Can it set the status, the date and the person when it creates the item?
- Yes, all three in the same line you write. Statuses use your board's own labels, so "mark it Waiting on client" works if that's what the column says. Dates need to be a real date rather than "next week", and the person needs to be someone on the board. It can also drop the item into a named group, or make it a subitem of an item you name.
- What if the item lands on the wrong board?
- The confirmation email includes an undo that works for 24 hours. You can also just reply - "move it to the Sales board" - and it fixes its own work.
- How is this different from Monday.com's own email integration?
- Monday.com gives each board its own hidden address, so you need a different address per board and the email arrives as an item with the raw message inside it. ForwardThis uses one address for every board and reads the line you write, so it can set the status, the date and the person as it creates the item, and do the follow-up work too. If you only ever dump everything onto one board and sort it later, Monday.com's own address does that fine.
