- How do I send an email to BambooHR?
- Nothing here writes to BambooHR: it answers who is out for a date range, the coming week if your email does not say, and looks up a colleague's name, job title, department and work email from the staff directory, and it never reads salary, home address, performance notes or documents. - Can it book or approve time off?
- No. It reads who is out and that is all. Booking leave, approving it, and anything to do with pay, reviews or documents belong to HR and to the people whose records they are, not to whatever arrives in an inbox. Nothing here writes to BambooHR at all.
- What does the who's out answer include?
- Who is off and on which days, for a date range. If your email doesn't say which range, it covers the coming week. Handy when someone is trying to fix a meeting and you'd otherwise be flicking between the calendar and BambooHR to answer them.
- What can it look up about a colleague?
- The things in the staff directory: name, job title, department and work email. It does not read salary, home address, performance notes or documents, so a look-up cannot hand out something private by accident.
- Will it show me things I'm not supposed to see?
- It works through the BambooHR account you connect, so it can only ever see what you can already see when you log in yourself. If your access doesn't cover something, neither does this.
