Why you need ForwardThis

ForwardThis skips all of that: forward an email along with some simple instructions, and it’s handled. Compatible with every email provider, and it works across the apps you’re already using.
Questions
- How do I send an email to Housecall Pro?
- Forward the customer's email to your ForwardThis address with a line saying what to do with it, like "put this on Sandra Whitlock's Thursday job as a note". ForwardThis finds the job, adds the note where the technician will see it, and replies to confirm. The first time, you'll need a free account with Housecall Pro connected, which takes about 30 seconds - that's the entire Housecall Pro email integration.
- Can it create a job from an email?
- No, on purpose. A job needs an address, a schedule and line items, and an email can't supply those safely. A half-specified job doesn't sit quietly in a list, it gets dispatched to a real van. So ForwardThis puts the email on an existing job as a note instead, which is what the office usually wants anyway.
- Can it reschedule a job or send it to a different technician?
- No. Moving a job rearranges somebody's working day and texts the customer about it, which is not something a forwarded email should be able to do. Scheduling and dispatch stay with you in Housecall Pro.
- Can it touch invoices or line items?
- No. ForwardThis never moves money, so there are no invoices, no line items and no approving or declining estimates on your customer's behalf. It works with customers, jobs, notes and tags, and it can tell you a job's balance when you ask.
- What if it tags the wrong job?
- Undo works for 24 hours: the note is removed and the tag comes back off. Tags that don't exist yet are reported back to you rather than created, so a typo never becomes a permanent tag in your account. Adding a customer is the one thing that can't be taken back, because Housecall Pro has no way to delete one, so it checks with you before it does that.
