Questions

How do I send an email to Brex?
Forward the email to your ForwardThis address with a line saying what you want to know, like "what did we spend with Amazon Web Services last month?". ForwardThis reads the spend and replies with the answer. It can also write a memo onto one charge if you ask it to. The first time, you'll need a free account with Brex connected, which takes about 30 seconds - that's the entire Brex email integration.
Can it issue, freeze or cancel a card?
No, and it never will. ForwardThis does not issue cards, lock or terminate them, set anybody's spending limit, invite a user, or make a payment or transfer of any kind. None of that is left out because it was hard to build. It is left out because no approval email can honestly stand behind "and now somebody has a card", and a transfer cannot be undone once it has gone.
What can it actually change in Brex?
One thing: the memo on an expense, which is the field Brex's own compliance rules chase you for. It never touches the amount, the card, the budget or the accounting category. If the memo goes on the wrong charge, the confirmation email has an undo that works for 24 hours, and it checks nobody has rewritten the memo since before it puts the old one back.
Can it file a receipt from an email attachment?
No. Brex takes receipts through a private upload link handed to whoever is doing the uploading, and that route isn't open to us, so a receipt sent this way would fail rather than file. Saying so beats a feature that breaks in front of you. It can tell you which charges are still missing a receipt, which is usually the part you needed anyway.
How is this different from Brex's own alerts, or Zapier?
Brex can notify you as each charge lands, and that's the better choice when you want everything as it happens. Zapier can push Brex data somewhere else, but you build the rule first and it runs from then on. This is for the question that arrives in your inbox: someone forwards you a bill query and you want the figure back in a reply, without opening Brex to go and find it.

Forward an email. Sh*t gets done.
