- How do I send an email to Gumroad?
- Forward the email to your ForwardThis address with a line saying what you want to know, like "send me the sales since 1 August with the total". It reads your account and replies with the answer. It reads Gumroad only: it can list recent sales with the product, the buyer and the price plus a summed total, and list your products with their price, whether they are published and how many they have sold. The first time, you'll need a free account with Gumroad connected, which takes about 30 seconds - that's the entire Gumroad email integration.
- Can I get my Gumroad sales by email?
- Yes. Ask for a period, like today or since the first of the month, and the sales come back listed with the total already added up at the bottom. Ask without a period and you get the recent ones. It is the answer to "did anything sell?" without opening the dashboard to find out.
- Can it issue a refund or change a price?
- No, and that is deliberate. Nothing here moves money or changes what is on sale. Refunds and product edits are left out entirely, so the worst a mistyped instruction can do on Gumroad is fetch you the wrong dates.
- Does the reply show who bought?
- Yes. Each sale comes back with the product, the buyer and what they paid, in the currency the sale was taken in, so a customer email you have been forwarded can be matched to their purchase without going looking for it.
- How is this different from Gumroad's own sale notifications or Zapier?
- Gumroad already emails you on every sale, which is the better choice while the numbers are small enough to enjoy. Zapier suits pushing each sale into a spreadsheet as it happens. ForwardThis is for the question after the fact, usually from your accountant, when you want a period totalled and written down rather than a hundred notifications counted by hand.
