How do I send an email to Coda?

Forward the email to your ForwardThis address with a line saying where it belongs, like "add this to the Pipeline table in our Sales doc". ForwardThis matches what's in the email to your own column names, adds the row and replies with a link. The first time, you'll need a free account with Coda connected, which takes about 30 seconds - that's the whole Coda email integration.

Can it add a row to one specific table in one specific doc?

Yes. Name the doc and the table in your instruction and that's where the row goes. The values are matched to the column names you already use, so you don't have to describe your table to it or keep a copy of its layout anywhere.

Can it edit or delete a row that's already there?

Yes. It finds the row by the text you give it, and you can add "match on" a column when you want an exact match on one field. An edit shows you the row before and after and waits for your yes; a delete quotes the whole row first. Undo puts a deleted row back for 24 hours, though Coda re-adds it at the bottom of the table with a new id rather than in its old place.

Can it read a Coda page back to me?

No, and the reason is Coda's rather than ours: Coda gives no way to read a page's contents back out. So it can find your docs and list their pages with links, and it can add text to the end of a page, but it cannot replace a page or quote one to you. Because there's no before to restore, adding to a page cannot be undone, which is why the approval shows you the exact text first.

Can it press a button in my doc?

No. A Coda button runs whatever formula its author wrote, and there is no honest one-line way to tell you what pressing one would do. Since we can't describe it, we won't ask you to approve it, so buttons are left alone entirely.
