Why you need ForwardThis

Email is messy, every message asking for something different. It means constantly leaving your inbox and juggling tabs. ForwardThis skips all of that: forward an email along with some simple instructions, and it’s handled. Compatible with every email provider, and it works across the apps you’re already using.

Questions

How do I send an email to FreeAgent?
Forward the client's email to your ForwardThis address with a line saying what you want, like "draft a sales invoice for Coulter Design for £2,400 on 30 day terms". ForwardThis drafts it in FreeAgent and replies to confirm with a link. The first time, you'll need a free account with FreeAgent connected, which takes about 30 seconds - that's the entire FreeAgent email integration.
Will it send the invoice to my client?
No, and it never will. ForwardThis never moves money. Everything it creates stays a draft: it is not marked as sent, not scheduled, and not emailed to anyone. In FreeAgent, leaving Draft is what makes an invoice owed, so that step is yours. It invoices a contact FreeAgent already has, and it can add a new contact for you too.
Can it record a supplier bill from an email?
No, and this one is worth being straight about. FreeAgent has no draft state for a bill. Anything ForwardThis created would immediately be an open payable, with no in-between state that just records that an invoice arrived. So bills are read-only here: you can ask what's owed, to whom and when, and the answer comes straight back in your inbox. This is the one place FreeAgent differs from Xero, where a supplier bill genuinely can be drafted, and the difference is FreeAgent's rather than a change of policy on our side.
Can it answer questions about my accounts?
Yes. Ask what's unpaid or overdue, what a particular client still owes, or for a profit and loss over a date range, and the answer comes straight back in your inbox. FreeAgent works out every figure, so the numbers are FreeAgent's own, and it can look across invoices, bills, expenses, estimates and projects.
What if it drafts the wrong amount?
Undo works for 24 hours and deletes the draft, and nothing had been issued in the first place, so there is nothing to correct after the fact. If the invoice has already left Draft by then, it refuses rather than deleting a document your client has been sent. You can also just reply and tell it the right amount or date.
