  1. Connect Wave

Create a free account and connect Wave. It takes about 30 seconds, and you only do it once.

  2. Forward an email

Forward any email to your ForwardThis address along with your instructions. One email can ask for several things at once.

  3. Done.

ForwardThis replies when it's done, with a short summary and links to what it made - and an undo button if something doesn't look right.

Questions

How do I send an email to Wave?
Forward the email to your ForwardThis address with a line saying what you need, like "add Fernleaf Cafe as a customer and draft them an invoice for $1,200". ForwardThis does it in Wave and replies to confirm with a link to the draft. The first time, you'll need a free account with Wave connected, which takes about 30 seconds - that's the entire Wave accounting email integration.
Can it send an invoice to my customer or take a payment?
No, and it never will. ForwardThis never moves money. In Wave, a draft invoice sits outside your books and your customer never sees it: approving is what posts it to your accounting, and sending is what puts it in front of the client. Both of those stay yours. Everything ForwardThis creates waits as a draft until you approve and send it yourself, and it records no payments, no transactions and no refunds.
Why does drafting an invoice need a product?
Because that's how Wave builds invoices: every line bills one of the products or services your business has set up. ForwardThis matches the one you name in your email, uses the only one if there's just one, and asks which you meant if there are several. If the product doesn't exist yet, ask ForwardThis to add it first - a name and a price is enough.
Can it tell me who still owes me money?
Yes. Ask what's unpaid or overdue, what one customer still owes, or for everything on a single invoice, and the answer comes back in a reply - amounts, due dates and the invoice's own link. The numbers are Wave's own, and reading changes nothing in your books.
What if it drafts the wrong thing?
The confirmation email includes an undo that works for 24 hours, which deletes the draft. Nothing had been approved or sent in the first place, so there's nothing to correct in your books. If it edited something rather than drafting it, undo puts the old values back, and it refuses rather than overwriting a change you've made yourself since.
Do I need a paid Wave plan?
On the Wave side, yes: Wave only lets outside tools connect to a business on its Pro plan, so that needs to be in place. ForwardThis itself is free to start, and connecting Wave takes about 30 seconds.
How is this different from connecting Wave to Zapier?
Most Wave accounting integrations, Zapier's included, run a fixed rule: the same trigger, the same result, every time, and you build the rule first. That's the better choice when identical emails arrive on a schedule. ForwardThis is for the emails you decide about one at a time - you forward one, say what should happen in plain words, and it's done, with nothing to build first.

Forward an email. Sh*t gets done.
