Setup in 30 seconds.

How it works

  1. Connect Mailchimp

Create a free account and connect Mailchimp. It takes about 30 seconds, and you only do it once.

  2. Forward an email

Forward any email to your ForwardThis address along with your instructions. One email can ask for several things at once.

  3. Done.

ForwardThis replies when it's done, with a short summary and links to what it made - and an undo button if something doesn't look right.

Just forward it

Questions

How do I send an email to Mailchimp?
Forward the email to your ForwardThis address with a line saying what should happen in Mailchimp, like "add her to the Newsletter audience and tag her trade-show". ForwardThis finds the audience by name, makes the change, and replies to confirm. It can add subscribers, update them, tag and untag them, add a private note, draft a campaign and read how the last one did. The first time, you'll need a free account with Mailchimp connected, which takes about 30 seconds - that's the entire Mailchimp email integration.
Can I add someone to a Mailchimp audience by forwarding their email?
Yes. Name the audience in your line, or say nothing if you only have one, and add any tags you want on them. If that email address is already on the audience, the existing subscriber is updated rather than duplicated, so forwarding the same enquiry twice does not leave you with two of them.
Can ForwardThis send a Mailchimp campaign?
No, and that is deliberate. It can write a campaign for a named audience with its subject line and content, but it is saved as a draft and Mailchimp delivers it to nobody. Someone has to open Mailchimp and press Send themselves. Nothing ForwardThis does can send, schedule or trigger email to your list.
Can it unsubscribe someone who asked to be taken off?
Yes. Forward their message with "take them off the list, they asked" and it finds them by email address and sets them to unsubscribed. Because that changes someone else's relationship with you rather than a field on a record, it always checks with you before it happens. If they later resubscribe themselves, undo will refuse to overrule them.
How is this different from a Mailchimp signup form or Zapier?
A signup form is the right answer when people are adding themselves on your website. Zapier is right when the same thing happens over and over and you want a rule that runs from then on. ForwardThis is for the one-off: an email lands, you want that person on a list with the right tag, and you say so in a line instead of opening Mailchimp.

Forward an email. Sh*t gets done.
