Questions
- How do I send an email to WooCommerce?
- Forward the email to your ForwardThis address with a line saying what should happen, like "add this to order #4416's notes". ForwardThis does it in your store and replies to confirm. The first time, you'll need a free account with WooCommerce connected, which takes about 30 seconds.
- Can I add a note to a WooCommerce order by email?
- Yes. Forward the email and name the order - "add this to order #4416's notes". The note goes on the order as a staff-only note, so your customer is never shown it or emailed about it. If it lands on the wrong order, undo works for 24 hours.
- Can I check a WooCommerce order status by email?
- Yes. Ask by order number or by customer - "what's the status of order #4416?" or "find the latest order from jane@acme.com". The answer comes straight back in your inbox: the lines, the total, the status and where it's shipping.
- Can it change an order's status?
- Yes - to pending, processing, on hold, completed or cancelled. WooCommerce emails your customer when an order's status changes, and that email cannot be unsent, so ForwardThis checks with you first. It never marks an order refunded: ForwardThis never moves money.
- Can it create orders, coupons or change prices?
- No, on purpose. WooCommerce has no draft state: a new order or coupon is real the moment it exists, and prices and stock are your live storefront. ForwardThis reads all of them - orders, stock levels, sales reports - but only writes notes and order statuses, so a forwarded email can never change what your customers see or pay.
- How is this different from WooCommerce email automation?
- Most WooCommerce email automation is about the emails your store sends: order confirmations, follow-ups, campaigns. ForwardThis works on the emails you receive - a customer chasing a delivery, a supplier confirming a restock - and turns each one into work in your store. If you want the same rule to run on every order, an automation plugin is the better tool; ForwardThis is for the emails that need a human to say what should happen, without leaving the inbox.
