Fwd: Site visit notes - Hartley St

Save this as a new page in my Hartley St section, and add a task in Todoist to get a damp quote by Friday.

---------- Forwarded message ----------

Went through the property this morning. The damp in the rear wall is worse than the survey suggested, and two of the loft joists need replacing. Full notes below.

Why you need ForwardThis

Email is messy, every message asking for something different. It means constantly leaving your inbox and juggling tabs. ForwardThis skips all of that: forward an email along with some simple instructions, and it’s handled. Compatible with every email provider, and it works across the apps you’re already using.

Questions

How do I send an email to OneNote?
Forward the email to your ForwardThis address with a line saying where it belongs, like "save this as a page in my Client notes section". ForwardThis creates the page with the email's text and replies to confirm, with an undo that works for 24 hours. The first time, you'll need a free account with OneNote connected, which takes about 30 seconds.
Can I forward an email to OneNote as a new page?
Yes. Forward it and say which section it should go in - "put this in my Meetings section". The email's text becomes a page there, titled how you ask. If you don't name a section, the page goes in your default section.
Can I save an email to a specific notebook or section?
Yes. Name the section and ForwardThis saves the email to OneNote right there - it looks the section up by name across your notebooks, and if two sections share a name it asks which one you mean. You can also say "make a new section called Suppliers", which it checks with you first, because OneNote has no way to delete a section once it exists.
Can it add notes to a page that already exists?
Yes. You can email notes straight onto an existing OneNote page - "add this to the bottom of my Site visit notes page". ForwardThis finds the page by its title and adds the text at the end. It checks with you before it writes, because OneNote has no way to take added text back out of a page afterwards.
What if the page it creates is wrong?
The confirmation email includes an undo that works for 24 hours. Undoing removes the page, and OneNote keeps deleted pages in the notebook's own Recycle Bin for 60 days, so nothing is ever more than two steps from recovery.
How is this different from OneNote's own me@onenote.com address?
OneNote's built-in email address drops every email into one fixed place, usually Quick Notes, exactly as it arrived. If you just want everything collected in one spot, that's the simpler tool. ForwardThis lets each email say where it goes - a named section, or the bottom of a page you already keep - and can do the follow-up work in your other apps too, like creating the task to deal with it.
